Abstract
The International Energy Agency, an autonomous body within the OECD, encourages R&D in the harvesting of forest biomass for energy through international collaboration in two harvesting Activities. In spite of the decrease in real price of crude oil many countries continue to recover forest biomass for fuel, although the justification for doing so varies.
