Southern pulpwood production, 1958

Informally Refereed

Abstract

The pulp industry in the south is now larger than in all other parts. of the Nation combined. In the years since 1946, construction of 2S new mills and the expansion of existing mills has more than doubled plant capacity. The annual cut of pulpwood bolts has increased proportionately, and a new source of raw material has been developed from the coarse residues at sawmills.
