Dynamics of fire plumes in verticle shear

Informally Refereed

Abstract

Plumes from wildfires and prescribed fires represent a critical aspect of smoke mangement and aire quality assessment, as as such it is important to understand the structure and dynamics of these plumes, both with respect to a basic understanding of the phenomena and with respect to an assessment of the validity of plumerise parameterizations over a wide variety of fire conditions.
