Changes to Southern Markets
Forestlands of the Southern U.S. have been undergoing dramatic changes in
ownership and markets for forest products. To understand these changes,
scientists and researchers from the Southern Research Station, Southern Region
State and Private Forestry, and the Universities of Georgia and Florida joined
forces, supported by the Southern Group of State Foresters and the USDA Forest
Service through the Southern Region and the Southern Research Station. The
following two preliminary reports were presented November 30th, 2005 to the
Southern Group of State Foresters. Finalized reports will follow at a later
date.
