Design and test improved methods and report on findings on trends in American's demand for nature-based outdoor recreation

Brief Description:
The purpose of this research is to continue the update and advancement of our understanding of national
recreation participation, participation trends, and the environmental interests of the American people.
It includes the development, writing, and publishing of peer-reviewed manuscripts, and cooperative management of on-going
research design and data collection for the National Survey on Recreation and the Environment (NSRE).
Objectives:
- Co-design and manage operations, analysis and reporting of findings, and develop collaboration among potential
sponsors for the National Survey on Recreation and the Environment (NSRE);
- Collaborate in the analysis, writing, publishing, and presenting results from the NSRE, with authorship determined by mutual
agreement between the UGA Principal Investigator and the USDA Forest Service Principal Investigator; and
- Provide jointly specified NSRE research for collaboratively producing social, demographic, recreation, wilderness,
protected areas and other trends results for the 2010 RPA Assessment.
