Brief Description:
The Department of Forest Resources will organize and host an urban forestry research and
technology transfer conference in the southern region.
The intent of the cooperative agreement is to provide seed money for the initial conference
and to stimulate a regional urban forestry conference series that will become self-sustaining
within several years.
Objectives:
- Organize and host a conference in the southern region that would be a venue for students, faculty, and practicing
professionals from public and private organizations to make oral and poster presentations
about internship experiences, club projects, class projects, research projects, volunteer
work, class papers and review papers of current urban forestry/arboriculture topics such
as sustainability, sprawl, global warming, innovative tree care techniques, etc.
