Forecast Change in Forest Land 1992-2010
Notes:
No net loss at the regional level has masked some countervailing changes in the region. While some land has been converted from forest to agriculture or urban uses, in other places agriculture land has been afforested. This map shows forecasts of changes in forestland between 1992 and 2010 based on population and income change. It shows clearly that some areas may experience increasing forest area and others may experience decreasing forest area.
