This slide shows that both softwood and hardwood timber production has increased and continues to increase.
Data source: These data were derived from annual estimates of final product output in the South. Conversion factors were applied to define the implied timber harvest quantities. Note that these data do not necessarily reflect removals of timber in the process of converting forest land to other uses.
