NCASI was a charter member of the Consortium in late 1990. The Consortium sponsored many wetlands sessions in various workshops and symposia. It initiated and organized efforts that lead to the book Southern Forested Wetlands: Ecology and Management Michael G. Messina and William H. Conner (eds.), Lewis Publishers. 1998. NCASI published the Consortium’s quarterly newsletter from 1991 to 1998.
In 1998 the Consortium ceased its biannual meetings due to reduced wetlands research activity. It now exists primarily as http://www.forestedwetlands.org/
