| Landscape ecology and development of analytical inventory, and monitoring techniques to satisfy multi-objective, "ecological" forest resources assessments.Protocols include ecoregion appraisals, GIS, geostatistics, nonparametric statistics, and regional mapping; inventories of human impact indicators (forest fragmentation, human-generated litter, livestock use,non-native and invasive plants, posted signs, prescribed fire, and other indicators of forest use), and estimation of regional accessibility, aesthetics, forest community types, old growth, recreation opportunities, and wildlife habitats.
