Research Information |
Education: |
M.S., Forestry and Spatial Information Science, North Carolina State University, Raleigh B.S., Environmental Geography, Ohio University, Athens |
Current Research: |
| The focus of my current research is integrating regional-scale, geospatial databases and models to estimate and understand the effects of climate change on forest growth and sustainability. Specific research projects include the Water Supply Stress Index (WaSSI and WaSSI-CB) models (Sun, Caldwell, Cohen, Domec, Herring, McNulty, Noormets, Treasure), which estimate the watershed-scale effects of climate, landuse, and population change on water supply and demand, carbon, and biodiversity. |
Collaborative Research: |
| I am part of a USDA Forest Service partnership between SRS and the Southern Region called the Template for Climate Change Impacts on Management Options (TACCIMO) that facilitates and standardizes the integration of climate change science into land management planning. I am working with other EFETAC and SRS scientists on the Southern Forest Futures Project to summarize regional climate change projections and address climate change impacts on southern forests. |
