Current Research:
The development of mensuration systems for forest inventory and forest health monitoring (including information management, analytical engines, and quality assurance); the use of continuous inventory data to analyze changes in productivity and other indicators of forest health at the regional scale.
Collaborative Research:
Establishing correlations between traditional mensuration variable (i.e., forest type, stand age, stand density, aspect, etc.), and other indicators of forest health such as understory vegetation structure, soils, and lichen species richness; use of such correlations to adjust indicators of forest health for differences in stand conditions, so changes related to exogenous factors can be evaluated.
