Research Information |
Education: |
| B.S., Cornell University, Agronomy- Soils, 1984; M.S. North Carolina State University, Forest Soils, 1990; Ph.D., University of Georgia, Forest Soils, 1995 |
Current Research: |
| Long-term effects of soil compaction, organic matter removal and competition on nutrient cycling and biomass allocation in a loblolly pine stand. Specific projects deal with quantifying and modeling root growth and decomposition across soil types and under various silvicultural and anthropogenic conditions; nutrient budgets at the LTSP site, litter decomposition rates; and carbohydrate dynamics of pine root and shoot extension. |
Collaborative Research: |
| Responses of southern forest systems to silvicultural and anthropogenic stresses and competition (especially as these relate to root and soil carbon pools, and root and soil chemistry). |
