- 2/28 - USDA ERS Program on the Economics of Invasive Species Management. Research proposals in three broad areas: (1) institutions and incentives for efficient invasive species prevention and management; (2) practical decision analysis for invasive species management; and (3) international dimensions os invasive species management. Proposals should focus on economic research, and/or decision support system development, with direct implications to USDA policies and programs. Deadline is April 29, 2005. Read the RFP.
- 2/10 - USDA Forest Service Biomass Utilization. These funds are targeted to help communities, entrepreneurs, and others (such as state, local, and tribal governments; school districts; non-profit organizations; businesses; companies, corporations, public utility districts; fire districts; conservation districts; ports) turn residues from hazardous fuel reduction projects into marketable forest products and/or energy products. Pre-applications due March 15, 2005. Applications due May 16, 2005.
- 1/11 - USDA Conservation Innovation Grants. Purpose is to stimulate the development and adoption of innovative conservation approaches and technologies while leveraging Federal investment in environmental enhancement and protection, in conjunction with agricultural production. Applications due March 28.

- 12/21 - USDA Biomass Research and Development Initiative. Research, development, and demonstration of biomass based products, bioenergy, biofuels, biopower, and related pocesses. This year's focuse is on development and demonstration projects that lead to greater commercialization. Pre-applications due February 15, 2005.
- 12/15 - DOE Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnerships - II. Builds on work conducted in Phase I partnerships. Work includes: conducting field tests of sequestration technologies, refining and implementing protocols for sequestration projects, proving the efficacy of carbon sequestration technologies. Applications due March 15, 2005.
