Morehead District Trails

These trails are located on Morehead District. Please remember that these trails are multiple-use, open to horseback riding, mountain biking, and OHVing, in addition to hikers and backpackers. Please practice Trail Safety and Leave No Trace to make your visit safe and enjoyable while protecting resources we all enjoy.

Recreation Opportunity Guides (ROGS) are letter-sized information sheets about trails and recreation areas. Trail ROGS give information on trailhead location, trail length, USGS quad name, county name, hiking difficulty, trail surface, connections and restrictions. The back page of the ROG has a map of the area or trail. ROGs are available in PDF formats. If you don't have a PDF reader, Download FREE Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Fees - Recreation Fee Passes are needed at the White Sulphur OHV Trail.

Note: The northern sections of the Sheltowee Trace (Sections 1 to 5) and Martin Branch Trail are closed due to ice storm damage.

Hikers are allowed on the White Sulphur OHV ONLY in the Closed season (December 1 - May 30).

Notice: 2 1/2 miles of Sheltowee Trace Trail (also known as the northern Half of the Caney Loop Trail will be closed for maintenance until further notice from Stoney Cove Recreation Are off Hwy 826 to the intersection of the Caney Loop Trail.
