Abstract

One key public relations role is to protect the abi lity of the organization to pursue its mission, which for a research organization is often to ensure adoption of scientific information. Following is the story of how public relations principles were successfully incorporated into the formulation, execution, and release of the Southern Forest Resource Assessment, a largescale multi-agency effort to evaluate the current and future status of forests in the Southern United States.
