| Description: | In 1995, roundwood output from Kentuckys forests totaled more than 186 million cubic feet, 35 percent more than in 1986. Mill byproducts generated from primary manufacturers increased 84 percent to 110 million cubic feet. More than 94 percent of the plant residues were used primarily for fuel and fiber products. Saw logs were the leading roundwood product at 161 million cubic feet; pulpwood ranked second at 20 million cubic feet. The number of primary processing plants declined from 435 in 1986 to 401 in 1995. Total receipts increased 43 percent to almost 212 million cubic feet. |
