| Description: | This chapter summarizes the main results from the preceding chapters, identifies gaps, and provides direction for fbture economics research on agroforestry systems. Although a common theme throughout the 1990s was that economic research on agroforestry continued to lag the advances made in the bio-physical sciences, the wide range of systems, regions, and techniques presented in this book suggests that economists have taken up the challenges of Scherr (1992), Sanchez (1995), and Mercer and Miller (1998) and are pushing forward the frontiers of economic arlalysis of agroforestry. |
