October 2000

October's activity looked much like that of the previous month, with continued strong interest in timber price information reflected both in the most popular pages visited and in the search terms employed by those arriving from search engines. A new full-text article by Prestemon and Wear jumped to the most popular slot, apparently fueled by its link from the home page. Other articles mentioned there also have seen strong interest. A logistic note: the access logs used for this report were first stripped of records for graphics files to shorten download and processing times. Most statistics focus on HTML pages and are thus unaffected, the exception is the overall hits count in the beginning table. Omitting graphics files substantially understates the true total hit count, here by about half.
