Economics Web Site Activity
June and July 2000

While visitors per day stayed about constant, the site saw a drop in hits per day, particularly on weekdays. A couple factors appear to be responsible. First, the RPA Timber Assessment pages dropped from the most visited pages as we moved past the presentation of the draft materials in May and toward posting of a revised version on another site. Second, with June we've moved into summer vacation for schools, and the organizational breakdown table confirms that visitors from education domains accounted for a much smaller share of visitor accounts. Summers usually bring a drop in visits. Heartening however is the response to our efforts to improve access to timber price information. The most requested pages chart shows the dramatic rise in visits to several of these pages in late June, a result of a targeted promotion of the new content to key search engines.
