Forested Wetlands Legislation, Regulation, and Delineation

Investigators:

Evan Mercer, Southern Research Station
Frederick W. Cubbage, North Carolina State University
Deborah Gaddis, North Carolina State University

Description:

This study examines forested wetlands regulation, legislation and delineation. The history of forested wetlands legislation and policy development is traced. Impacts of regulation on delineation of wetlands is examined over time. Special emphasis is placed on the impacts of streamside Best Management Practices on costs of managing forested wetlands and the subsequent impact on timber production using Georgia as a case study.
