Evaluation of the Stewardship Incentive Program

Description:

This study reports and evaluates the accomplishments of the Stewardship Incentive Program (SIP), a new program under the Forestry Title of the 1990 Farm Bill, during its first three years (1992-1994) of operation. During this period, SIP cost share payments of $20.2 million were made to participating private forest landowners for practices to enhance natural resources on over 1.2 million acres. National and regional breakdowns of the programs practices, costs, and acreages are provided and analyzed.
