Structure and Potential Effects of Best Management Practices on Private Landowners

Investigators:

Fred Cubbage, North Carolina State University (formerly Southern Research Station)

Description:

This research examined the overall structure of Best Management Practices and their potential effects on private land management. Voluntary and mandatory approaches are compared and contrasted. Findings indicate that forest landowners will likely be increasingly influenced by BMP's in the South. The degree of these effects will depend on the effectiveness of voluntary measures.
