Landscape/Stand Analysis

Description:

While market and regional levels of analysis are needed to fully develop the effects of policy and development on resources, finer scale analysis is often needed to evaluate specific impacts. For example, landscape level models may be needed to gauge the effects of development and associated land use on environmental quality, ecological functions, and local timber supply. Research in this area has focused especially on understanding local patterns of land use and changes in forest fragmentation.
