Coweeta Hydrologic Laboratory is located in the southern Appalachian mountains 3 miles west of Otto, North Carolina.
From Asheville, NC
Take I-40 west. Then take the US 19/23/74 exit# 27 towards Waynesville, NC. Continue on US-23/441 south towards Atlanta Ga/Franklin, NC exit# 83. In Franklin, NC take the Atlanta, GA exit to continue driving south on US 23/441 for approximately 10 miles. After passing through Otto, NC, which has one post office, a fire department, and restaurant turn right onto Coweeta Lab Road, drive 3 miles west to the Lab. (If you miss the Coweeta Lab Road from US-23/441 south and arrive at the Georgia/North Carolina state line. Turn around and drive approximately 3.5 miles to the intersection of Coweeta Lab Road and US-23/441) The Conference Center and Main Office is located at the end of Coweeta Lab Road where the pavement ends.
From Atlanta, GA
Take I-85 north, to the GA 985 north. The GA 985 north changes to US 23 north which will merge with US 441 north. Cross the Georgia-North Carolina state line and drive approximately 3.5 miles on US 23/441 north. Turn left on Coweeta Lab Road. Drive 3 miles west to the Lab. The Conference Center and Main Office is located at the end of Coweeta Lab Road where the pavement ends.
