About Us: Forested Wetlands Hydrology

Forested Wetlands Hydrology

Managing forested wetland landscapes for water quality improvement, quantity control, and productivity requires a detailed understanding of functional linkages between ecohydrological processes and management practices.

There are three principal areas of research:

  1. Hydrologic and nutrient cycling processes of undrained and managed forested wetlands
  2. Hydrologic linkages among ecosystems including uplands and lowlands;
  3. Hydrologic and water quality modeling.

The hydrologic studies are supported by long-term watershed research:

Chapel Branch Creek Watershed Characterization and Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Project, Lake Marion, SC

April 30, 2009 - 4th Eco-Hydrology Monitoring Seminar

October 14-15, 2008 - 2008 South Carolina Water Resources Conference
