Research results from the Forest Watershed RWU 4353 are disseminated to forest resource professionals and to the public through:

  • Peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals
  • The Compass (a quarterly magazine published by the Forest Service Southern Research Station)
  • Presentations at scientific conferences and to interested groups
  • Guided tours
  • Conferences and workshops on state-of-the-knowledge forest watershed ecological and management practices in Southern Appalachian’s, Forested Wetlands, and Coldwater Fisheries

  • The Forest Encyclopedia

RWU 4353 scientists and collaborators have authored or co-authored hundreds of publications on long term hydrologic and ecological effects on forested watersheds, water quality and quantity, interactions among terrestrial, riparian, and aquatic components of forested watersheds, evaluation of watershed ecosystem responses to natural, management, and other human disturbances.  Many of these publications written by RWU 4353 scientists, past and present, and our collaborators and partners, relating to forest watershed research and ecology are available at our SRS publications website.  These publications may be ordered by sending your name and complete mailing address, title, author, and publication number (for example, GTR-55) to: pubrequest@fs.fed.us.
