75 Years of Watershed Research at the
Coweeta Hydrologic Laboratory

Venue
The symposium is being held in the conference facilities at The Dillard House in Dillard, Georgia; about 5 miles from Coweeta. The Dillard House is a well-known landmark attraction in the southern Appalachians because of its geographic setting and local cuisine. The Dillard House has a large number of recently renovated sleeping rooms that will be available for a rate of $70/night plus tax that includes a complimentary full breakfast. Several other nearby hotels are also available, the Holiday Inn Express also in Dillard, Georgia, 706-746-3585; and in Franklin, North Carolina, the Comfort Inn, 828-369-9200; the Hampton Inn, 828-369-0600; and the Microtel Inn & Suites, 828-349-9000.

Registration
The cost for registering for the conference is $125.00. The cost includes lunches on November 3rd and 4th, and dinner at the celebration and recognition ceremony on the evening of November 3rd. The ceremony will include musical entertainment by local musicians with the expectation that Coweeta alumni will join in with many of the old “Coweeta Songs”. A separate registration option will be available for those who can only attend the celebration and recognition ceremony. The registration deadline is October 15th, 2009.

Post Conference Facilities Tour and Field Trip
Coweeta scientists and staff will host an open house and field trip on November 5th at the Coweeta Hydrologic Laboratory. The field trip will include a tour of the recently renovated facilities with stops at several ongoing research sites. The cost of the field trip is $25.00 and includes local transportation, a box lunch, and refreshments.

Abstracts
Abstracts for the contributed portion of the symposium are due October 1, 2009. We especially encourage presentations that address topics related to climate change, water supply, biodiversity and invasive species, and land use change. Abstracts can be submitted via the symposium website at http://www.srs.fs.usda.gov/cfwr/register.html or emailed to dlfowler@fs.fed.us .
