Student Presenter Scholarships:
The BSSRC Organizing Committee is offering
scholarships to help defray the costs of undergraduate and graduate students
attending the conference. In order to receive a scholarship, a student must:
• Be the lead author on a paper or poster being presented at the meeting.
• Be willing to assist meeting organizers in some capacity at the conference,
such as managing the audio-visual equipment in a meeting room during the
concurrent sessions.
This is a separate offering from the student
presentation competition, and is a great opportunity for students that are
presenting either oral papers or posters to get their registration and field
trip costs covered by this scholarship.
Scholarships will initially be available to one
student from each college or university, up to a total of 15 scholarships. If
there are no applications received from some schools, or there are additional
funds available, then additional scholarships may be provided to schools with
multiple applicants. The scholarships will cover the cost of meeting
registration and field trip. Students will be responsible for their own
transportation, lodging, and meals. Special consideration will be given to
undergraduate students presenting at the conference.
Students interested in applying for a BSSRC scholarship should submit the
following to Dr. Gordon Holley (gholley@latech.edu):
• The abstract for their paper or poster.
• A 1-page resume.
Please identify yourself as either an undergraduate or a graduate student.
Information should be emailed to Dr. Gordon Holley.
