Products & Publications

Research results from Bent Creek Experimental Forest are disseminated to forest resource professionals and to the public through peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals, the Compass (a quarterly magazine published by the Forest Service Southern Research Station), presentations at scientific conferences and to interested groups, guided tours, workshops on state-of-the-art forest management practices in Southern Appalachian Highland forests, and through the Forest Encyclopedia.

Publications

Bent Creek scientists and cooperators have authored or co-authored hundreds of publications on forest management, and forest and wildlife ecology of Southern Appalachian Highland forests, dating from the 1930’s. Many publications relating to uplands hardwood ecology that were written by Bent Creek scientists or partners are listed in our Bent Creek Bibliography. Many are available in PDF format (indicated with the citation). These and additional research publications are available at our Southern Research Station publications website, or may be ordered from the Southern Research Station.
