2 + 2 Joint Degree Program
Florida A&M University and the University of Florida have teamed up to offer the Bachelor of Science in Forest Resources and Natural Resource Conservation. This joint effort, targeted primarily at minority students, aims to bring more well educated students into the professional workforce in natural resources. The Forestry and Natural Resources Conservation program at FAMU is offered in the Division of Agricultural Sciences in the College of Engineering Sciences, Technology and Agriculture. Students are admitted to the program as freshmen; and upon completion of the freshman and sophomore requirements for the joint programs, the student receives an Associate in Arts degree from FAMU. They then will be admitted through the established procedures to the upper division as students of the School of Forest Resources and Conservation at the University of Florida.
Accredited by the Society of American Foresters since 1942, we are committed to offering the highest quality education in the science and management of forest ecosystems. Besides training the students for employment in both the public and private sectors, the program also prepares student to pursue advanced degrees in more specialized areas of forest resources and conservation.

Upon completion of the program, students receive the Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Resource Conservation from the University of Florida. Students who transferred from FAMU, according to the joint program, also receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Sciences from FAMU. Students may earn a Certificate in Urban Forestry from UF after completion of additional requirements.
