Transportation in New Orleans -- TAXICAB--The airport flat rate is $24 for up to 2 people, $10 for each additional passenger, not to exceed five people.  OTHER CAB FARES--$2.50 drop charge + $1 for each additional passenger.  $3 per person for special events or meter rate if greater.  COMPLAINTS? Call the Taxicab Bureau at 504/565-6272.  Please be sure to remember the cab company and cab number.  AIRPORT SHUTTLE--Upon arrival at the airport, travelers can purchase tickets for $10 each way from the Aiport Shuttle information desks.  These desks are staffed 24 hours a day by tourism personnel who sell shuttle tickets, answer travel-related questions and offer information about events throughout the city.   Passenger vas arrive at and depart from the airport every 10 minutes.  Call 504/592-0555.  PUBLIC BUS (Airport)--Fare: $1.50.   Departs from the airport and travels to the downtown side of Tulane Avenue and Elks Place and South Saratoga Street approximately every 10 minutes during peak hours (6-9a.m., 3-6p.m.), every 23 minutes otherwise.  Buses run 6a.m. - 6:30p.m.  For information call 504/818-1077.  PUBLIC BUS FARE--$1.25.  Schedules vary.  Call the RTA at 504/248-3900.
