The headquarters of RWU-4159 is located in the Chamberlin Forest Resources Complex on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM). This is on the first floor of the East Wing of the building and is near the offices of other RWU scientists and support personnel. Two scientists and three support personnel are stationed at UAM. The RWU's project leader, who has a Hot Springs duty station, also maintains a office at UAM and is on-site on a weekly basis.

Our co-location with UAM's School of Forest Resources and the Arkansas Forest Resources Center creates a strong sense of cooperation with the UAM forestry faculty and staff.  It also makes available shared resources, such as conferences rooms and laboratories, and increases the contact with both undergraduate and graduate students. The close working relationship with UAM has lead to several study areas being located on University-owned forests. Because of their location, research of the scientists staffed at UAM focuses on the management of naturally-regenerated mixtures of loblolly-shortleaf pine and pine-hardwood forest types in the Upper West Gulf Coastal Plain, but unit scientists in Monticello have active studies in the  Interior Highlands of the Midsouth and other regions of the country.
